Dating with ocd

I accepted a little more that it was okay to have OCD and that I’m not bat shit crazy like many people believe OCD’ers to be.This is a hard one, and many times there is nothing they can do to help you with your routine or relieve your stress. At the beginning of our relationship, my now-wife “Charlotte” came over to my place for the first time and my room was immaculate. The pens and pencils on my desk were organized in straight lines. Even the photos and posters on the wall were a study in flawless geometric alignment. However, if there are some things they can do, confide in them and don’t be afraid to ask them.I’ve started doing this more and more as I gain confidence. Not empathy for someone with a disorder, but rather empathy for the ones you love.Because you can hurt them just as easily as they can hurt you.

As someone who deals with OCD on a daily basis, Hilborn's performance struck a particular chord with me.At the start of a relationship you’re so giddy about potentially falling in love that for the most part, your usual anxieties seem to fall by the wayside, and as all my fellow OCDers will know, the less anxious you are, the more bearable your OCD will become.and I most certainly am not an expert on dating (seriously, I’m clueless).I covered everything and learned a lot of stuff myself as an I went along. It may sound strange, but looking at the finished book, I felt a lot more happy with myself.
